lemon tart (sonoma county fair 1st place winner)

Hey foodies it's chef ava marie here i decided to use up the lemons around the house so I perfected the lemon tart from my friend beckys grandma Lawson. It's baked to perfection it's refreshing that's why I'd be happy to share with you fans so enjoy. **update when I was going to post it. this recipe won first place just yesterday at the Sonoma county fair so enjoy!










Lemon Tart
this is becky's grandma Lawson's recipe. I hope you enjoy. I nailed her dish. she is so proud of me (her foodie friend) and her granddaughter too.

in a food processor or in a bowl
mix: 1 1/2 cups flour
         1/4 cup sugar
         1 tsp lemon peel
         1 stick cold butter cut into cubes
mix butter with the flour, lemon peel and sugar with fork and with your fingers until fine crumbs form.
add: 1 egg. stir with a fork until dough holds together. pat into smooth ball. bake at 325 for 25 minutes until pale golden.
for the filing: 3 eggs, 1 cup sugar  1 tsp lemon peel, 1/3 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup flour 3/4 tsp baking powder.
in a small mixing bowl with a hand mixer beat eggs on hi speed until foamy. gradually add sugar beat until thick and lighter in color. add peel, lemon juice flour and baking powder. beat until smooth and has no lumps.
pour mixture onto baked crust. bake at 325 until filling is no longer jiggles when shaken 20-22 minutes. do not over bake. let cool on rack. remove from pan rim and dust with powdered sugar. makes 8 servings
