Lentil chili Italian style (for legendary lentil cook off 2018)
Hi foodies it's Ava marie here, the other day I made a Italian style lentil chili for a recipe contest, I just hope it's good enough for the top 5 and it takes place in Washington each year wish me luck top 5 competitors gets up to $600 In travel expenses and $2,000.00 for the winner much love and good eating

Italian style lentil chili
2 tbl evoo
1 cup cooked lentils
1 onion chopped
1 red bell pepper seeded and diced finely
2 cloves garlic grated
1 1/2 tbl chili powder
1 tsp each paprika , garlic powder and cumin
1 can diced tomatoes
3 dashes sriracha sauce
2 cups water
Method
In a large pot heat oil and add onion and bell pepper and cook for a few minutes then add lentils and garlic until fragrant. Then add the spices, tomatoes and water bring it to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer for 45 minutes or until reduced down (It will be thickened naturally if too thick add water if needed ) serve with cheese and sour cream
