Happy Easter and Strawberry Vanilla Clafoutis (For egglands best egg contest)

Happy Easter everyone, it's been a busy week with heat wave and much much more. This past week I took an party plates cooking class and the Instructor gave competition plating DIY such as a veggie lattice (like you would do with an apple pie) and smearing sauces. That way will be ready for world food championships 2018 in no time.

Strawberry vanilla clafoutis

 1 basket strawberries streamed washed and sliced

3/4 cup sugar, divided

1 tsp vanilla bean paste

1 cup heavy cream

3 eegglands best eggs

1 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste

2 tbl butter melted

1/4 cup buckwheat flour

1/4 cup all purpose flour

1/2 tsp salt

Powdered sugar for dusting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees convection bake mode. Butter a large gratin dish.

In a medium bowl combine strawberries, vanilla bean paste and 1/4 cup of sugar and set aside

In a large bowl whisk together eggs, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, cream, vanilla bean paste and melted butter. Whisk in buckwheat flour, all purpose flour and salt until smooth.  Pour batter onto prepared pan and sprinkle with strawberries on top.

Bake until the clafoutis is puffed and golden 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes dust with powdered sugar and serve warm
