Sassy sweet and savoury cornbread cake (that almost made to wfc)

The other day I decided to treat my family to my winner at heart sassy sweet and savoury cornbread cake made with bell pepper and onions. It was a contest for taste of America for the Burgess brothers cornbread twins but it was hard for them to decide so close and they can almost taste it  so they ended up with 5 other entries but winner or loser I decided to treat my family at lilys birthday party this dish they loved it so give it a try today





      

Sassy sweet and savoury cornbread cake 
1 box krusteaz honey cornbread mix or Burgess brothers cornbread mix 
Ingredients called for the mix 
2 tsp butter 
1/2 onion chopped 
1/2 green or red bell pepper seeded and diced finely 
1 can creamed corn 
1 cup Colby Jack cheese plus more to top cornbread 
Method 
Preheat oven to 400 degrees spray a 9x13 inch aluminium pan with cooking spray (no glass please might break in oven)
In a saute pan melt butter over medium heat and add veggies and cook until translucent and a bit caramelized 6-7 minutes 
Meanwhile in a bowl mix cornbread mix with ingredients called for mix, creamed corn and half of cheese and add in the saute veggies to the batter and mix in until mixed in.
Pour onto greased baking pan and bake for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and golden brown. Let cool cut into squares and enjoy
