cherry mostarda (from mario batali)

Hi fans i made this appetizer for a librarys sewing class. Using a recipe from marip batali people loved it I've never learned to sew from my mom she nagged me for years to learn to and i come and decided im going to learn to sew i did but it takes practice anissa gave me expert tips she was patient and made a few friends as well not bad for a beginner sewer but I'm always a chef at heart so enjoy the mustard with fruit recipe





Cherry mostrada
recipe from mario batali
2 cups dried cherries
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 1/2 cups Moscato wine
1 1/2 cups water
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup mustard powder
2 tbl black mustard seeds
1 tbl red pepper flakes5
garlic herb spread and crackers to serve
method
in a medium saucepan combine cherries and cranberries and stir. Add the wine and water and  bring to a boil over medium heat. Lower hrat to maintain a simmer and cook until the wine abd water has reduced to 1 cup about 30 minutes
remove from heat add the sugar mustard powder, black mustard seeds and red pepper flakes and stir to dissolve the sugar.  Allow to cool then cover and let steep for 24 hours at room temperature. Transfer mostsrda to a jar refrigerate if not using right away. Serve with crackers and spreadable garlic cheese spread such as boursin
