Fiesta Fried Raviolis with Cilantro marinara

hello readers I hope you stay indoors cooking in the bay area in the next 72 hours. I made my mom/dad some homemade fried raviolis fiesta style with marinara sauce mmm. so its my own recipe idea and its super easy to prepare I used salsa seasoning mix but you can use taco seasoning mix as an option. so stay dry and cook cook and cook. so make these for the holidays so get cooking!












Fiesta Fried Raviolis with Cilantro marinara

2 9 oz packages ravioli (one butternut squash and one Italian sausage)
2 1/4 cups bread crumbs, plain
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
4 eggs, beaten with a little water
1 packet of taco or salsa seasoning mix
oil for frying

cilantro marinara
1 small onion chopped
2 tbl olive oil
2 cloves grated garlic
1 can hunt's tomato sauce
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
salt and pepper to taste

method
in a deep skillet fill oil about 3 inches full like you are going to fry chicken like paula deen heat to medium high heat. then set a breading station put flour on a 1st plate, then in a bowl whisk eggs with water and pour bread crumbs and mix with taco seasoning in a 2nd plate. open the packages of ravioli and dredge then in flour then in egg wash then in taco breadcrumbs. then place on a cookie sheet. fry 1-2 minutes per side and place on a paper towel to drain. serve with cilantro marinara.
*you can flash freeze the ravioli for 2 hours in the cookie sheet then transfer to baggies and freeze until you feel like making them then fry as directed
for the sauce heat a small skillet with oil over medium heat add the chopped onion with salt and cook until soft 5 minutes add grated garlic cook for 1 minute, then add the can tomato sauce and cook until heated through and season with salt and pepper to taste. then turn off the heat add in the chopped cilantro and fold in in and serve with fried ravioli or mozzarella sticks
