Caramelized onion Dip (way better than the onion soup mix)

if you need a onion dip recipe, this one is so much better than the onion soup mix my mom/dad normally prepared so people ditch the soup mix for caramelized onions, the real stuff Yea, you got it! so heres the recipe I adapted from hungry girl and for locals in Daly city, Colma and south san Francisco I am 95% officially going to teach demos at South san Francisco library in February for 3 classes on a Friday afternoon ish like this is a start up and I will finalized it with the library staff in January and will make a official announcement soon as I get it settled, so its a huge stepping stone so merry Christmas to my fans and followers and a happy new year xoxo chef Ava





Caramelized onion dip

2 large white onions, chopped
6 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tbl butter
1 tsp brown mustard
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp chili powder
salt to taste
pita chip to dip in

method
heat butter in a a large pan over medium high heat, once butter has coated the pan add onions chili powder and salt sauté for 10 minutes stirring often reduce heat to medium low and cook for  an additional 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally until onions are deep golden brown and caramelized
meanwhile  in a large bowl or container combine cream cheese, sour cream and mayo. mix until smooth then refridgrate once onions are caramelized add mustard and vinegar to the pan. continue to cook for 5 minutes stirring frequently remove onions from heat and allow to cook, once cool add onions to the large bowl or container and mix dip thoroughly refridgerate overnight to allow flavors to blend. serve at room temperature with pita chips
makes 6-8 servings for 8 party people!
