Applesauce bars

hello reader's today I made some applesauce bars, using my homemade applesauce I thawed out from the freezer. it's more like a cake than a brownie, but next time will use 1 9 x 13 inch pan. I use an 8 x 8 inch pan, and the batter was large so just a tip for you all. so this is a fun project to do with children and I hope you get baking and cooking!

Applesauce cake bars

3 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg
pinch of cloves
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups raisins
3 sticks unsalted butter softend
2 1/4 cup regular sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups applesauce, you can use my recipe from September 18th link here http://autismcooks22.blogspot.com/2014/09/homemade-applesauce.html or store brought
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 tbl milk

method
preheat oven to 350 degrees
in a medium bowl sift dry ingrdients flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves and set aside. in a large bowl with an hand mixer, cream together butter and regular sugar together until fluffy. add eggs one at a time until incorporated mix in powdered sugar and vanilla continue to beat. add in applesauce before you add the flour mixture. once that is incorporated then slowly add in flour and beat slow until mix thoroughly. it helps you also beat with a wooden spoon at the end of mixing in the last batch of flour. then using your wooden spoon. fold in raisins and nuts spread on greased parchement paper lined pan. today I baked it in aluminum foil. but you can use parchment paper. bake for 50 minutes check with a tooth pick. make sure it comes out clean. if yes take it out and let it cool it continues to cook off the heat of the oven. enjoy!
