homestyle macaroni and cheese

dear readers, today i made some mac and cheese, not from the box but homestyle, my 7 year old nephew gavin green loves them, he is a picky eater, but i try what he should try as a chef and his auntie so every kid in every house hold will love these mac and cheese and will ask for more, so please re-create this at home, on my next blog, i am going to wine country tomorrow in sonoma to visit my dear friend becky, and also will go to the sonoma's top restaurant the girl and the fig will make sure to take pics of the place and will let you know about the chef and the food, maybe if they have recipe will share too, so i hope you enjoy the recipe today and will come back with the review tomorrow okay so go ahead and make mac n cheese



Homestyle Macaroni and cheese
recipe courtesy Safeway but slightly adapted by Chef Ava Marie

2 cups hot water
1 cup whole milk or half and half, want to cut calories use reduced fat
2 tbl butter
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 pkg 8 oz lucerne mac and cheese 3 cheese blend, sold at safeway

method
in a large pot over high heat, bring to water, milk, butter and macaroni to a boil stirring occasionally, reduce heat to medium and cook stirring frequently until macaroni is tender 8 minutes. stir in the cheese until melted if too thin cook for an additonal minute or 2 it will thicken as it stands, season with salt and pepper makes 6 servings
