Welcome to my Recipe page

hello, im Ava marie Romero i go by chef ava marie on the flow and im a chef, special needs camp counselor and soon to be chef instrucor from South san francisco Califronia,

as i welcome you to the recipes from an autistic chef blog, its about myself who was born with autism at the age of 3, but i over came with a lot of challenges, from medications to early intervention and im the most successful person i can be. so heres how my culinary journey began......

i started cooking at age 13 by watching a food network show at the time called emeril live, he gave me tips and tricks to become a chef and on the road i got my cooking insprtation from my mom, shes a soup master, shes knows a lot about soups and stews, i also took tons of parks and recreation classes with chefs  Dexter Ridley, Terri Dien, Lisa Chan, Kelly Fong and Amy Fothergill, and also worked at prep cook for chefs Harry Chokkar, Dion hawkins and a head female chef from chevys (she spoke only spainsh no english) but understand a little bit of my mexican culture. when im not doing any food projects, i work at via west campus as a camp counselor on the side, i used to be a partciapant there when very little from age 7-13 but gave up for 2 years and age 16 came back and started volunteering and was Junior counselor for 4 years and just this is its my 1 year being a General counselor since last april 2012. i love my job. and love my collegues

and the other side of my life was a general ed and special ed student at el camino high, had tons of buddies from mainstream classes aka general ed, some from special education, nice people and they love who i am as a chef. after high school i was going to cooking school but i ended up going to a transitonal vocational job program and went what??? that was not my choice, so mom said, your special ed teacher said you should, so when i got to the program was a whole other story, but learned, made a fewer friends, during school hours we did a lot of job training and public tranist practices, without the program, i wouldnt beable to take public tranist on my own today, everyday i enjoy going on the bus on my own and i often go meet friends there at any eateries, go to cooking events and or go ingriedent shopping for make and create lots of new recipes, farmers market too, about the program i went from 2007-2011 it was at canada college, it was a funded college, most people call it another four years in high school from 18-22 but i called it a college and totally respected the college very well i didnt have to pay fees, tutitions, and more it was funded by San mateo county office of education special education services and workability was included in the package, i worked at marriott hotel and chevy's through them and at ROP i worked at embassy suites as prep cook at all 3 places and for marriott did some dishwashing as well. so now heres whats next.....

so i proudly welcome you to recipes of the autistic chefs recipe blog, twice a week will cook, post pictures of finished food and will have a recipe along with the photos, so come on to my world of cooking and got a lot  of recipes for you so chow down
